Cookie policy

This site uses the smallest set of cookies it can. There is no advertising on it and no profiling, and nothing that measures you is loaded unless you have said yes to it.

CookieWhat it doesHow long it lastsDo you have to accept it
_medusa_cart_idKeeps your quote basket together, so the reference codes you picked survive a page change.7 daysNo. It is created only when you add your first item, and it holds nothing but the basket you asked for.
_medusa_cache_idGives your browser a random identifier that the server uses to group the pages it has already prepared.24 hoursIt is set the moment you arrive, before anything can ask you. We do not claim it is exempt; see the note below.

No analytics or advertising service is switched on for this site. There is nothing here to accept or refuse, so no banner is shown, and the cookies listed above are the only ones set.

What we do not use

No advertising cookies and no social network cookies are loaded, and nothing on this site follows you to another one. Nobody is sold or given your data.

The map on the partner network page

That page shows a real map, and the map images come from OpenStreetMap rather than from us. Opening the page asks openstreetmap.org for the squares of map you can see, which tells them your IP address and which part of the map you looked at.

It is the only thing on this site served by anyone else. No script of theirs runs here, nothing is stored on your device by it, and no cookie is involved: they are pictures. Every other page loads nothing from anywhere but this site. The same figures are printed as a table beside the map, so nothing is lost if you never open that page.

The identifier set when you arrive

One row in the table above deserves more than a line, because it is the one we are least comfortable with. The second cookie is a random identifier created the first time you open any page here, before you have asked for anything and before any banner could offer you a choice. The server uses it to group the pages it has already prepared for you.

We are not going to file it under strictly necessary and leave it at that. Every page on this site works without it, which makes that claim hard to stand behind, and a unique identifier stored on every device that arrives is exactly the kind of thing a visitor is entitled to be asked about. It carries no name, no address and nothing you have typed, it is never sent to anyone outside this site, and it is never used to measure you or to build a profile. Removing the need for it is on the list of work, and this page changes when it does.

Storage in your browser

The search box remembers your last few searches in your own browser so it can offer them back to you. That never leaves your device, and clearing your browsing data removes it.

Third parties

If the company switches on a chat bubble, it is loaded from that provider and may set cookies of its own under its own policy. None is switched on by default.

Managing cookies

Your browser can block or delete cookies at any time, and it can do it for this site alone. Blocking them leaves the catalogue readable, but a basket will not survive a page change.
